About the data

Iran Gazette brings together, in one searchable place, the company notices published in the Official Gazette of the Islamic Republic of Iran: establishments, changes, dissolutions, completed liquidations and the roles of directors.

Names, roles and board seats are extracted automatically from the notice text. The method is reliable on common notice styles and weaker on unusual wording. Every role links to its source notice so you can check it.

Risk flags are built from board seats. If a representative of a military body, a foundation or a state body sits on a company's board, the company is linked to that body. Indirect links run through intermediate companies.

National IDs are shown exactly as printed in the official notice. When the check digit does not validate, that is shown next to the ID.

The sanctions section is refreshed every week from OpenSanctions data: the sanctions lists of the US, the EU, the UK, the UN and other countries. Companies are matched by national ID and people by national code. Name matching is used only for organizations, and a name match is published only when an automated review confirms it with high confidence. People are never matched by name alone.
